Parashat Vayakhel – Freedom in Holiness

The construction of the tabernacle required many raw materials, different fabrics, and skilled craftsmen. Surprisingly, one of the raw materials used to make the laver (the washbasin) is described as mirrors that were brought to the tabernacle by women. What were these mirrors and what can be learned from this about the relationship between holiness and the mundane?
