מדברות
שתי סוכות מחוברות זו
לזו כשתי חוליות בשרשרת
ההיסטוריה של העם היהודי:
האחת קודרת, קורסת על
יושביה כקבר ומייצגת את
השואה על מוראותיה, ואילו
הסוכה העליונה, המוארת
ועטורת העלעלים הזהובים,
עודנה הולכת ונבנית ומסמלת
את ההתחדשות, הצמיחה
והתקומה.
Two sukkahs are connected
to each other like two links
in the historical chain of
the Jewish people: One
is gloomy, collapsing on
those inside it like a grave;
it represents the Holocaust
and its horrors. But the upper
sukkah—lit up and adorned
by small golden leaves—is
still being built; it represents
Jewish renewal, growth, and
restoration.
