A Jewish Woman’s Prayer Book

A Jewish Woman’s Prayer Book
An evening in honor of Dr. Aliza Lavie’s book

In this unique prayer book, the first of its kind, Dr. Aliza Lavie presents women’s prayers from various periods in history and communities around the Jewish world. It includes prayers written by and for women, prayers intended for experiences and events specific to women, and more. The book, which was recently translated into English, has elicited widespread interest among American Jews and many other groups. In this evening in honor of the English translation of the book, we will discuss the special significance of women’s prayer, the return to ancient texts, and the cultural impact of the book in Israel and around the world.
