Historical Changes of the Ketubah

The art of the Ketubah began in Medieval Egypt and Eretz Yisrael and from there ‘traveled’ to Spain. Following the expulsion from the Iberian Peninsula (1492), the Sephardim brought this art form to the many countries in which they settled, West and East, developing it to new artistic heights that reflect their lives and ideals.
