Ep. 2: It’s Not (Just) About Bibi

Although the majority of Israelis have grown more alike and more homogeneous in character - more liberal, yet also more traditional - political polarization only continues to deepen. Even as the substantive debate over policy keeps narrowing, the rift that is intensifying and splitting the public into two camps has taken on a personal character: “Yes Bibi” versus “Anyone but Bibi”. But when we argue about Bibi, what are we really arguing about? In this episode, Dr. Micah Goodman and Efrat Shapira Rosenberg peel away the personal veneer covering this question and expose the deep engine fueling the conflict: on one side, a protest vote against an oppressive past; on the other, an anxiety vote against a threatening future.
