Psalms of the Exodus: Rebuke and Songs of Praise

Dr. Yael Ziegler in a talks about Israel's salvation from Egypt, the seminal biblical event. Many prophets refer to Israel's liberation from Egypt, applying the miraculous narrative in various ways. In the second class, we will examine several psalms and try to uncover how they read the stories and what the Exodus signifies to them. The variety of inner-biblical meanings allows us to reveal old-new meanings for our own times. The class will take place in English.
