Jerusalem’s Chamber of Holocaust Museum

Jerusalem’s Chamber of Holocaust Museum was inaugurated towards the end of the War of Independence by Holocaust survivors who wanted a place of remembrance as close as possible to the site of the Temple. Throughout the 1950's and the 1960's olim, from various parts of the world came to the Chamber to memorialize Holocaust victims by placing stones in memory of destroyed communities. We will attempt to understand the unique nature of the Chamber, as well as its unique contribution to the commemoration of the Holocaust.
