This session introduces two major Hasidic practices – sacred melody or niggun, and sacred storytelling. Niggun allows one to feel the body’s resonant cavities richly; it opens the spirit and points both high and deep with the promise of ever-greater alertness and aliveness. Hasidic stories convey wisdom that resonates beyond the original context, hinting at universal values and meaning. Stories are not mere entertainment or edifying tales; they are meant to assist in cultivating an inner voice.
